KWS RANGER SCOOPS AFRICAN AWARD

Kenya Wildlife Service ranger, Quresh Abdi Guyo has won the 2018 African Ranger Award, in recognition of exceptional passion, commitment and dedication 

Making the announcement, Alibaba Foundation said Guyo has demonstrated excellence as a wildlife ranger.

Guyo is an investigation assistant based in Isiolo in Kenya’s Eastern Conservation area.

“The African Ranger Award is given annually to rangers in Africa who make every effort to combat poaching, habitat loss, and the illegal wildlife trade. It is a prestigious honor that serves to recognize the best of the best within its ranks”, the organizers of the award said in a statement.

There were fifty finalists in the competition with eighteen Kenyans making it to the final list.
