Animal Adoption Programme
The Kenya Wildlife Service Animal Adoption Programme is a distinctive project that gives an opportunity to individuals/corporates to sponsor an animal at the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, famed for its efforts in caring for all species of orphaned, abandoned, and injured wild animals.
The animal adoption programme is based on the fact that every animal at the orphanage has specific needs. The support goes directly into the upkeep of the animals to provide food, medicine, toys, translocation, cage construction, maintenance repairs, and supplies.
50% of every donation/support received will be directed to the Kenya Wildlife Service Fund
whose objective is to provide a sustainable source of funding for wildlife conservation and its habitat to benefit present and future generations.
The Nairobi Animal Orphanage holds an annual Honorary Adopters Homecoming Feeding Day and Christmas party for the orphaned animals, where the adopting parents and sponsors get the rare opportunity to feed the animals in the orphanage. These events are aimed at bringing together foster parents and other potential adoptees to spend quality time with orphaned animals as we encourage them to own and conserve wildlife.
Just as every animal in the Orphanage has a unique story, so are their needs unique. By adopting an animal, you are supporting wildlife conservation by helping Nairobi Animal Orphanage meet these needs today! The support goes directly to the upkeep of the animals by providing food, medicine, toys, translocations, cage construction, maintenance repairs, and supplies.
How it works
Currently, the Nairobi Animal Orphanage has a capacity of fifty eight (58) animals. The adoption programme is based on the cost of an animal’s yearly upkeep as indicated below.
EVERY PENNY COUNTS! You can adopt by taking up ALL or SOME of the total cost of upkeep of the animal of your choice as categorized below.
There are six categories of adoption, determined by the fee:-
