Further to the press release this morning, Kenya Wildlife Service would like to confirm that there was no sighting or any signs of lions at the Ngong road forest as earlier reported.
KWS search and monitoring team undertook a thorough search of the area but there was no evidence of lion presence. It has also emerged that the traffic police officers who reported the matter to KWS were themselves conveying informtion received from a truck driver through other intermediaries.
KWS continues to monitor the situation on the ground, and will give updates on any developments.
