UNIFORMED AND DISCIPLINED SERVICES HOLD SPECIAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE IN NAIROBI

Members of six uniformed and disciplined services and their families on Sunday (October 11, 2009) held a special national thanksgiving service to thank God for seeing them through various challenges.

The annual event jointly organised by the Uniformed and Disciplined Services Chaplaincy comprises the Kenya PoliceKenya Prison, Administration Police, Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Forest Service and the National Youth Service was held at Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi. The chairmanship of the National Committee is held on rotational basis and currently, the Kenya Wildlife Service is the chair. 
Bishop Philip Anyolo of the Homa Bay Catholic Diocese, who is also in-charge of the Uniformed and Disciplined Chaplaincy, presided over the service. 
 
The theme for this year’s event is ‘A NEW HEART, A NEW SPIRIT, ONE NATION’
The special national service is the climax of similar activities that are held at all provincial headquarters across the country from March to August, every year. Organising committees at both provincial and national levels manage the various activities related to these functions.
